I just installed SQL Server 2019 on a pair servers in a new SQL Cluster... I need to install Reporting Services also... Do i install Reporting Services on both of the servers or just one ?? I am planning that the Reporting Services Database will be located in the cluster as well... Should I run reporting services on both servers in the cluster with load balancing ??

\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Tools\Binn.
per this article:
I installed VS 2019 Community Edition with the SQL Data Tools, and also, the SQL Server Data Tools 15.9.4, and yet the file does not exist.
Where can I find the RS.EXE file and it's related dependent objects, or it's equivalent ?

It looks like they moved it to this location instead now:

I have a simple report with 4 columns, Name, Address, Phone and Photo
If there is no photo for the record, I want the row height to be .2in
If there is a photo, I want to display the photo as 1"x1"
Q - How do I make the rows with no photo .2in and the ones with photo 1" in height. currently everything is 1"?

There are custom Registry keys that are added in "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT" while installing Report Builder.
We have to fetch the installation directory of Report builder from registry keys and hence, we need to look for custom registry key from "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT". We are sure that for 64 bit system, the location is "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ReportBuilder\shell\Open\command" , but not sure the key for 32 bit system.
Could you please tell from where the custom Registry key value for report builder for 32 bit system can be fetched.

I am trying to publish an app/SQL report in the Azure App Proxy but the report full url doesn't end up with "/". When I add the "/" on the app proxy The link does not display the report when I take the link off the app proxy does not like without the "/". Is there a way to access the sql report with "/"?
I want to learn Microsoft's version of report generation.
I tried to install SQL Server Reporting Services on my Windows 10 Home PC. Told me (paraphrasing) unexpected error - user not in active directory domain. Talked to another guy, he said I need a server with active directory and that I need to be in the domain of that server.
And that I need Windows 10 Pro to be in a domain. I was able to successfully install SSRS on a PC with Win10 Pro, but have no idea if it is capable of actually generating reports as is...
Is there a local version I can use on my PC? I'm not sure of what 'Report Writer' is in relation to 'SQL Server Reporting Services'.

I am trying to configure report server but keep getting the same error massage on change database part.
On running database script, I get the following error message.
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): The object 'CK__Customers__Regis__25869641' is dependent on database collation. The database collation cannot be changed if a schema-bound object depends on it. Remove the dependencies on the database collation and then retry the operation.Please anyone give me a guidance on how to solve this problem.

we have just moved our databases from a 2008 R2 server to 2016 server. On the SSRS server (win2012 server) I changed all the existing data sources to the new server, deployed all Datasets and Reports again (Overwrite=TRUE) and when I try to run the reports in preview mode, everything works fine. But when I go to the same published report, and run it, nothing happens. The progress circle is just spinning and the report never shows any results. And there is no error message either....
How can I trouble shoot this? Any help would be very appreciated.

We have SSRS reports designed with Microsoft Report Builder 3.0. For an example if we have Tablix1 to Tablix 4 and dataset row property has set as “Can grow: True and Can Shrink: True”.
The dataset row has been dynamically grow based on the user input. If the content is large and remaining content will continue in next page and the first line (be it Header or a normal text) on the new page appears too close to the Top Border and in case of
header it will appear half in page end and remaining half in next page first line.
Issue 1: Text appear close to Top Border
There should be a little space between the Top border and text. The text was continuation of previous page Tablix control row values.
Issue 2: Header shrink
Tablix half of the header will start from end of the page and remaining header will starts beginning of the page.
We have set report border by using body property.

I would like to ask the question if it's possible to add a filter to a matrix table (or if possible at the dataset) for following scenario.
The table shows different values for a product configuration on a customer order line. In the construction process this vaules will change due to some detail changes in customer demands. The config-id is then changed.
The report is designed in MS Report Builder ver 2012.
As the report is designed now, all config-ids are listed in the report, that is really not required.
Example with all rows.
Only required with two config-ids Ihighest and lowest.
Example below is with other config than above.
Report design overview.
Configuration-id is setup with column grouping.
Tried to add following filter to select highest and lowest config-id, but then only one vaule for the highest is selected.
Does anyone know a good way to set this up, so the lowest and highest vaules are selected?
Please feel free to reply if any information is missing in my request.
Next task is then how to setup a good feature to compare the differences between the two configurations to see the changes.
Does any one know of any good article online describing this?

I have a report that has two tablix, one has a regular paginated report with headers, summaries, etc so that it looks pleasant on the screen. A second one that is just a table of all of the fields for Excel download. I have a parameter that suppresses one or the other for the user to choose. Because my "Excel" tablix is longer than the summary one, I have to extend the report width. When I run the report, it looks proper, but when I print to PDF it has blank pages on every other page (which is due to the extended report width).
How can I accomplish this while not having the blank pages? Can I dynamically set the report width or suppress blank pages?
Expected Behavior of a Multivalued Parameter in SSRS is that when I clear all selections (uncheck everything) the parameter will remain empty, and when I click the View Report button, I will get an error message telling me that the parameter cannot be empty.
Usually this is the case, but often, upon clearing the parameter of all values, and clicking out of the box, the parameter refreshes itself with whatever values were selected before it was cleared.
Note that it doesn't repopulate with the configured default selected parameters, just the values that were selected before it was cleared.
Details:
- Dev Version: SSRS 2016
- TargetServerVersion: SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012 or 2014
I have two Multivalued parameters configured in exactly the same way: SaleType and SaleLocation
- Text (no blanks, no nulls)
- available values populated with a shared dataset
- default values populated with the same shared dataset
- Advanced: automatic determine when to refresh
- Advanced: Notify is checked
- I have also reviewed the "Code" view of the report and I can see no differences in the config of these except the references to their respective datasets
- Additionally, the respective shared datasets are configured exactly the same -- using a proc call, Both returning values named "Key" and "Display"
When I clear SaleLocation, the parameter remains empty, and I get an error message upon clicking the View Report button.
When I clear SaleType, upon clicking out of the parameter, it automatically refreshes itself with the values it had before it was cleared.
WTF!
I expect and want all of the multivalued parameters to remain cleared and to error upon View Report.
Has anyone experienced this behavior and know how to fix it.
