Hi we run 2016 enterprise. Pls take a look at the 1st two images at https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/03a3eaf0-597c-4e58-9df9-149b266fa671/cant-sub-reports-perform-better-in-ssrs?forum=sqlreportingservices . Basically a multi tablix subreport runs for each salesman in its own master report tablix cell. Those images are anonymized.
What I'm noticing, and it seems too weird to live with is this:
-if at least one of the subreport's tablix's contains data, all of the subreport's tablix's show in this cell, with just hdgs on the empty tablix's. This seems ok.
-if none of the subreport's tablix's for this salesman have data, I get an empty master cell. That's weird. See the pic below. I used an eraser on that pic because its the actual report (not anonymized). Is this a bug in ssrs or "by design"?
-following up on the latter, even if I put a text box (inside triangle) above the first tablix (see darker blue band with John's name in white) , for salesmen with no data in the subreport tablix's I still get an empty master cell. In spite of the fact that an expression in the text box references the salesman passed to the subreport's salesman param. Are you kidding me? Can this be explained and perhaps worked around?
